The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Telangana State Council has launched its first Healthcare Panel to support AI adoption, digital transformation and wider access to healthcare in the state.
The panel was launched during a conference on AI-enabled healthcare and digital transformation in Hyderabad. Its initial focus will include AI-based care, preventive healthcare, medical tourism, healthcare access, and education and skilling for healthcare workers. The panel will also work on healthcare policy recommendations for the Telangana government.
Healthcare experts at the event highlighted the need to take quality care beyond Hyderabad to tier-2 and tier-3 cities. They said limited infrastructure in smaller towns often forces patients to travel and increases out-of-pocket expenses.
Speakers also said AI could shift healthcare from late diagnosis to early prediction, support personalised treatment and connect fragmented medical records. They stressed that technology should improve patient care rather than simply add more digital systems.
Experts called for a shift from traditional health records to broader wellness records, with greater focus on preventive care during childhood, college years and working life.
The conference also highlighted gaps in digital health adoption. Experts said many hospitals still depend on paper records despite investing in digital systems. They called for interoperable systems that follow patients across healthcare providers.
