Background

Philips and BIHS have come up with a partnership that seeks to integrate all healthcare facilities into one digital network in India. The initiative is geared towards enhancing patients’ experiences as well as their health care access while providing better quality service delivery. The companies will seek to share patient information through the creation of a comprehensive digital system that connects clinics, hospitals, ambulatory and even home-based care facilities.

The first BIHS healthcare network will be established in 2026, and other networks in other big cities in the country will follow suit. Philips IBE (IntelliBridge Enterprise) is an innovative technology that links medical equipment with hospital information systems. This technology is aimed at ensuring healthcare professionals are able to view all patient data on a single screen so as to make timely and appropriate decisions.

According to Philips, interoperability and connected care have become more critical than ever before due to patients visiting different healthcare providers. The company noted that the deployment of IntelliBridge Enterprise would support better clinical outcomes and improve operational efficiency across the BIHS network.

BIHS emphasised that India requires an integrated healthcare system rather than a standalone infrastructure. The company said the collaboration would help create a connected care model where patients receive coordinated treatment regardless of where they enter the healthcare system.

As part of the agreement, Philips will also supply advanced healthcare technologies, including its MR BlueSeal helium-free MRI system, to support imaging services, workflow efficiency, and patient comfort across BIHS facilities.
