PB Healthcare Services, the health arm of PB Fintech, has acquired Fitterfly to boost its healthcare network and focus on preventive care for diabetes, obesity and heart health.
Founded in 2016 by Dr. Arbinder Singal and Shailesh Gupta, Fitterfly has raised about $18.9 million from investors, including Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund, Fireside Ventures, and 9 Unicorns. Before the acquisition, the startup was valued at $41.7 million. Amazon is linked to Fitterfly through its $250 million Smbhav Venture Fund, which backs Indian startups in healthcare and other growing sectors.
Meanwhile, PB Health’s recent $218 million funding from investors like General Catalyst, Faering Capital, Bay Capital, Think Investments, Avataar, and Select Group will help the company expand its operations. It is currently building a 1,200-bed hospital network in the Delhi NCR region, including a 270-bed hospital in Noida and two new hospitals in Gurgaon.
According to Yashish Dahiya, Chairman and Group CEO of PB Fintech, “Our vision is to create a truly integrated healthcare ecosystem where patients experience frictionless, high-quality care. We are building a tech-first healthcare platform that improves outcomes, enhances trust, and redefines the care journey for millions across India.”
The company is also embedding AI across its operations to improve efficiency and patient care, including tools for smart clinical reporting, voice-to-text documentation, and AI-assisted decision support for doctors.
Fitterfly’s Co-founder and CEO Dr. Arbinder Singal added, “Chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and obesity affect nearly 40% of Indian adults. Our clinically proven programs will play a major role in PB Health’s mission to promote prevention and long-term wellness.”
To further enhance its leadership capabilities, PB Health has brought on board senior healthcare professionals, including Rajeev Bhandari (formerly of Evercare and Fortis Hospitals), Dr. Mohit Mathur (formerly with Max Hospitals), and Air Marshal Dr. Rajesh Vaidya (former DG Medical Services, Indian Air Force).
With this move, PB Health aims to become a leading player in India’s integrated and preventive healthcare sector.
