Background:
Bengaluru-based Narayana Health will expand its affordable healthcare to the UK. The expansion will create jobs, improve medical skills, and share the hospital’s expertise.
Founded in 2000 by well-known heart surgeon Dr. Devi Shetty, Narayana Health is known for providing high-quality care at lower costs. Cardiac services remain its largest segment, but the group offers a wide range of specialty treatments. CFO Sandhya J said the company is targeting countries where private healthcare can run smoothly.
Narayana Health has already established an international presence, operating a hospital in the Cayman Islands and acquiring Practice Plus Group Hospitals in the UK last year. The company’s immediate priority is to strengthen its operations in the UK before expanding further into regions such as Europe and the Caribbean. “We want to make the UK investment successful first,” said Sandhya, adding that international expansion will follow once the business gains stability and scale.
The UK expansion of Narayana Health will result in the creation of new jobs and the sharing of medical skills, as well as the training of advanced treatment methods. Its care affordable approach is to increase access to specialized healthcare.
The hospital group is also becoming bigger in India. It already has more than 5,900 beds and an intention to increase it by 2,000 in the upcoming three years at approximately Rs 30 billion. It has competitors such as other large hospital chains, such as the Apollo Hospitals and the Manipal Health Enterprises.
The revenue of Narayana Health increased by 12.1 percent in 2025 to reach Rs 54.83 billion. The company anticipates the same growth in the coming year as it goes global in India and other countries, enhancing its position in local and global healthcare.
