What key milestones have shaped your growth as a leader in the healthcare sector?
Turning Early Challenges into Motivation Growing up with the determination to prove that a girl can achieve anything became the first milestone in shaping my strong mindset, resilience, and leadership spirit. Completing my Medical Education: Earning my medical degree was a crucial step that laid the foundation for my career in healthcare and strengthened my commitment to helping patients.
Specializing in Aesthetic Medicine and Hair Restoration, pursuing advanced international education, becoming an International Education Board Certified Hair Restoration Consultant and an American Council of Aesthetic Medicine & Surgery Certified Level-5 Injector helped me gain global knowledge and expertise in aesthetic treatments.
Establishing my Own Clinic, founding Dr. Ankuja’s Skin, Laser & Hair Transplant Clinic in Vishrantwadi, Pune was a major milestone where I transitioned from being a practitioner to an entrepreneur and leader in the field of aesthetic medicine. Receiving the Most Promising Cosmetic Surgeon Award (Delhi, 2018), being honored with this award recognized my dedication, skill, and growing impact in the cosmetic and aesthetic industry. Transforming patients’ confidence over the years, successfully helping patients regain confidence through skin, laser, and hair restoration treatments has strengthened my reputation as both a compassionate doctor and an inspiring leader in my field.
How would you describe your leadership philosophy, and how does it influence your work and decision-making?
My leadership strongly influences my decision-making by focusing on patient safety, ethical medical practices, and long-term results rather than short-term gains. I carefully evaluate new technologies, treatments, and procedures to ensure they truly benefit my patients. At the same time, I encourage my team to maintain high standards, work collaboratively, and constantly improve their skills. Through this balanced approach of empathy and excellence, I have built a clinic culture centered on trust, innovation, and patient confidence.
What major challenges have you faced in your career, and how have they contributed to your personal and professional development?
There were many major challenges that I faced in this journey. Firstly, I was an elder daughter to my father, so growing up in a joint family and studying was a major challenge. Years back, we used to not get a separate bedroom to study, nor any digital platform to learn online. The speed and cost of the internet were out of the box. I hardly used to get any pocket money to get my favorite books. So I used to get them from the college library, read them before the expected date of return.
I haven’t attended any family weddings, birthdays, or parties for years. Diwali and the Ganesh festival were a major challenge, too. Later, my father converted my room into a soundproof space so that I could concentrate better and achieve my goals.

My clinic focuses on modern hair restoration methods such as FUE, Sapphire FUE, and Direct FUE hair transplantation, which allow natural hair growth with minimal scars and faster recovery.
These techniques provide natural-looking hairline design, no stitches and minimal pain, and faster healing with minimal downtime.

Unlike many clinics that only perform procedures, my clinic emphasizes artistic hairline design and customized treatment planning for each patient. This innovation lies in designing hairlines according to facial structure, personalized treatment protocols, and combining medical science with aesthetic understanding.
- Use of Advanced Dermatology & Laser Technology. My clinic uses modern laser technology and advanced dermatological treatments for skin rejuvenation, hair removal, and other cosmetic procedures. This allows safer treatments, better precision, and more effective results for skin and hair concerns. Personalized Treatment Innovation, one of the biggest innovations, is the individualized treatment approach where every patient receives a customized plan based on their skin type, hair condition, and medical history.
I have international certifications in aesthetic medicine and hair restoration, allowing my clinic to adopt global standards and techniques in cosmetic treatments. This keeps the clinic updated with the latest aesthetic procedures, international protocols, and evidence-based dermatology.

I believe that successful aesthetic medicine is not just about treatments, but about understanding the patient as a person. Empathy: I listen carefully to every patient’s concerns, fears, and expectations. By creating a comfortable and respectful environment, I ensure patients feel heard and valued before any treatment decision is made. Ethics: I follow a strong ethical approach by recommending only those procedures that are truly necessary and beneficial for the patient. I prioritize honest consultations, realistic expectations, and patient safety over commercial gains. Efficacy: With my advanced training, international certifications, and years of experience in skin and hair treatments, I ensure that every procedure is performed with precision, scientific evidence, and modern techniques to deliver effective and natural results.

I aspire to grow my clinic into a recognized center of excellence for skin and hair care, known for quality treatments, innovation, and patient satisfaction, while also mentoring young doctors, especially women in healthcare, to pursue excellence and leadership in the medical field.
