Background-

Cupid has raised its stake in GII Healthcare Investment, a healthcare-focused investment platform, with the follow-on commitment aimed at deepening its exposure to the Gulf Cooperation Council healthcare sector.

The personal care products manufacturer said the move builds on an earlier investment and reflects strong conviction in the platform’s long-term growth potential.

GII Healthcare Investment manages assets exceeding $3.5 billion and operates across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Europe, the USA, and India.

The platform holds a significant equity stake in a leading healthcare provider based in the Middle East and has built a track record of backing quality healthcare assets, including Abeer Medical Company, an integrated healthcare provider in Saudi Arabia, and AlMeswak Dental Company, a dental and dermatology care chain operating in the Kingdom.

Cupid pointed to favourable regional dynamics driving its decision, citing rising healthcare expenditure, expanding populations, growing insurance penetration, and sustained government investment across the GCC.

The additional commitment was made at an attractive valuation, giving the manufacturer greater participation in the platform’s growth trajectory, the company noted.

Aditya Kumar Halwasiya, Chairman and Managing Director of Cupid, said the decision reflects strong conviction in GII’s healthcare investment strategy and the long-term partnership the two organisations have built.

He added that as the manufacturer continues expanding its global footprint, the relationship opens opportunities extending beyond financial returns.

Halwasiya said Cupid continues to prioritise preventive healthcare and wellness outcomes as it pursues new geographies aligned with its corporate values and shareholder interests.

GII keeps reinforcing its role as a leading investment vehicle for global capital drawn to the region’s expanding medical infrastructure and growing demand for quality care.
