Background
Apollo Hospitals now runs routine and planned healthcare services through all seven days of the week, including Sundays, after launching its Always Open Always Here initiative.
The initiative expands outpatient consultations, diagnostics, preventive health checks, follow up consultations and scheduled procedures beyond weekdays, while emergency, critical care and inpatient services remain available round the clock as before.
The hospital group’s Health of the Nation 2026 Report found nearly 26 percent of screened individuals showed hypertension and 23 percent showed diabetes despite having no visible symptoms, pointing to a rising burden of undiagnosed chronic disease among working Indians.
Busy schedules and weekday commitments often delay consultations and health checks, the report noted, prompting Apollo to widen access with an additional day for care.
Dr Prathap C. Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, said the initiative extends the same commitment already given to emergencies and critical care to routine and preventive services across the week, describing it as a renewed pledge of care to patients nationwide. He credited doctors, nurses, technicians and healthcare workers for enabling the step forward.
Dr Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson, said the move allows working professionals, caregivers and families to access consultations, health checks and follow up care without disrupting their weekday routines.
Patients can now complete health checks, bring family members for diagnostics or continue follow up care sooner, drawing on Apollo’s existing doctors, diagnostic facilities and coordinated care teams across its hospital network in India.
