The approved projects include a 50-bedded Critical Care Hospital at Sub-District Hospital Manimajra, AYUSH Health and Wellness Centre with an Administrative Block at Sector 28 and an extra classroom at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 27-C.
The Critical Care Hospital will be developed under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM). The Centre has sanctioned financial assistance of ₹16.63 crore for the project. Planned on a 2.88-acre site within the Manimajra hospital campus, the facility will be built at an estimated cost of ₹83.89 crore. The primary objective of the project is to enhance the health facilities available and improve the availability of secondary and tertiary health care facilities in Manimajra, Mauli Jagran and the IT Park locality.
For the purpose of improving access to conventional health care facilities, the government has sanctioned a project that involves the construction of an AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre and Administrative Block in Sector 28, at a total cost of ₹20.88 crore.
In the education sector, approval has been granted for an additional block at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 27-C. The ₹8.4-crore project will include a Ground+2 building with 15 classrooms. The new facility will help meet growing demand for educational infrastructure and improve the learning environment for students.
The administration said the projects are designed to address infrastructure gaps, improve public services and meet the needs of Chandigarh’s growing population.
