Let’s delve into the interview details below!
What was the inspiration behind starting The Esthetic Clinics and what sets it apart from other skincare clinics?
Having studied Aesthetic Dermatology internationally, I recognized a growing demand for quality aesthetic care in India. Western treatment protocols cannot be directly applied to Asian skin due to differences in skin type, reactivity, complications, technology availability, cost, and limited local data. This inspired the establishment of The Esthetic Clinics, a world-class facility tailored to the Indian population.

Can you shed some light on the HydraFacial treatment and its benefits as a non-invasive facial treatment?
Hydrafacial is a type of medifacial, or medical-grade facial. Unlike regular beauty parlour facials, medifacials are performed with expert guidance, recommended products, and advanced machine technology to enhance results. Hydrafacial uses a machine with a probe that suctions out impurities while delivering active ingredients to hydrate, moisturize, and soothe the skin, giving it softness, glow, and refreshment. Regular treatments benefit dull or dry skin and support overall skin rejuvenation.
What leadership skills and qualities have you developed over time? And what do you consider the most important quality to thrive in the healthcare industry?
As our organization grows, I’ve realized that teamwork is key to success. Running a healthcare organization involves learning aspects not taught in medical school—human resources, finances, investments, social media, and patient engagement—lessons learned only through experience. Training and sharing knowledge with future physicians brings peer appreciation and community respect. Most importantly, thriving in healthcare requires building trust and gaining patients’ confidence.
What are some of the biggest challenges facing the skincare industry today, and how do you address them?
The skincare industry faces multiple challenges today: environmental pollution, UV exposure, chemicals, unhealthy lifestyles, over-information, and FOMO in the cosmetic segment. These factors have changed the prevalence of skin and hair disorders compared to 20 years ago, with increases in acne, hair fall, allergies, eczema, pigmentation, aging, obesity, and hormonal disturbances. Anxiety and social media pressures are fueling body dysmorphia and self-esteem issues, especially among the “selfie generation,” leading to conditions like tech acne, digital eye strain, and text neck.
Over-information online often misleads patients, complicating diagnosis and treatment. To address this, dermatologists must stay updated with medical literature, educate the public through authentic content, collaborate with nutritionists and lifestyle experts, and provide holistic, personalized care. Another challenge is the rise of fake products and unqualified practitioners, which damage the industry and patient trust. We combat this by spreading awareness and adhering strictly to ethical practices.
How do you stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the healthcare industry?
We stay updated through continuing medical education, conferences, training the next generation of practitioners, and international mentorship. Research and publications are integral, supported by a dedicated team.
AI and Machine Learning (ML) are transforming skincare by improving diagnosis, treatment planning, patient care, appointment management, electronic and photographic records, online consultations, and assessing treatment results. They also aid in discovering new medications and treatment options. Laser technologies have revolutionized both medical and cosmetic dermatology, while social media and platforms like Zoom and Google Meet facilitate global knowledge sharing.
At The Esthetic Clinics, we integrate AI and ML through digital tools, image analysis software, and AI-powered platforms, while emphasizing that clinical judgment and humane care remain irreplaceable.
What advice would you give to aspiring dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons who are just starting their careers?
Obtain medical training from a reputable institute and cultivate research habits early, as they distinguish you professionally. Gain international exposure, maintain ethics, keep proper records, and develop signature treatments or products to stand out. Regularly update knowledge through workshops, conferences, and continuing education, and seek diverse clinical experiences to improve diagnostic skills.
Build professional networks with skilled dermatologists and specialists, join associations, follow medical journals, and use trustworthy resources. Establish strong patient relationships with clear communication to build trust and satisfaction. Embrace technology while maintaining clinical expertise, especially in aesthetics, where mental and emotional care is as important as skin treatment.
Once established, train and mentor younger practitioners to build goodwill. Value the support of family and staff by offering incentives and involving them in the clinic’s progress, fostering a positive organizational culture. Commit to lifelong learning, professional development, and ethical practice.
How do you see the skincare industry evolving in the coming years? What are your future plans for The Esthetic Clinics?
The skin and haircare industry is set to grow globally, especially in developing regions like Asia, Latin America, and Africa, driven by new technology. However, risks from misuse, misguidance, and quackery must be strictly controlled.
Future Plans for The Esthetic Clinics:
- Digitize all records and expand telemedicine for virtual consultations

- Enhance social media presence for credible patient education
