Background

Aster DM Quality Care Limited started operations today after completing its merger between Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India Limited, uniting four established healthcare brands under one roof, Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, Evercare and KIMSHEALTH.

The merger builds a bigger, stronger platform, one designed to bring specialist expertise, advanced treatment and modern medical technology within easier reach of patients across the country.

Dr. Azad Moopen stays on as Executive Chairman of the newly combined entity, while Mr. Varun Khanna steps into the role of Managing Director and Group CEO to run the business.

Aster DM Quality Care holds a solid footprint across South and Central India, and it will maintain a strong presence in several fast-growing healthcare hubs outside the major metros, supporting the group’s broader plan to spread affordable, advanced healthcare beyond big cities.

Dr. Moopen described the merger as a defining moment in shaping one of India’s most trusted, future-ready healthcare institutions, calling it a coming together of shared values and clinical excellence.

Khanna said the combined organisation will put patients and families first in every decision it makes, with a strong emphasis on smooth integration and uninterrupted patient care.

Running 39 hospitals across 28 cities with over 10,600 beds, Aster DM Quality Care stands ready to bring specialist care and advanced medical technology to India’s tier 2 and tier 3 cities, including Nagpur, Aurangabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Bhubaneswar and Raipur, cutting down how often patients need to travel to major cities for treatment.

The combined entity intends to speed up investment in advanced technology, including Gamma Knife systems, stereotactic radiosurgery and robotic surgical platforms, alongside 12 new LINAC-based radiation therapy systems set for tier 2 and tier 3 cities.

Bed capacity across the group is expected to climb past 15,000 in the years ahead, backed by a workforce topping 45,000 healthcare professionals.
