Let’s delve into the interview details below!
What inspired you to pursue a career in holistic homoeopathy, and how did your journey lead you to focus on concerns such as anxiety, PCOS, and hair fall?
My interest in homoeopathy began with a fascination for the connection between the human mind and body. During my early clinical years, I realised that emotional and psychological states often influence physical illnesses. Homoeopathy appealed to me because it treats the individual as a whole rather than focusing only on symptoms.
My inclination toward a holistic approach began even before I completed my BHMS internship. During the 2000 Gujarat earthquake, I joined a team of doctors who travelled to Kutch to help the victims. That experience had a strong impact on me. I saw how empathy, listening, and emotional support can contribute to healing, sometimes as much as medicine itself. This inspired me to integrate homoeopathy with psychology and psychotherapy.
After returning to Mumbai, I pursued a postgraduate degree in psychology to better understand the mind–body connection. Over the years, I realised that effective healing requires addressing both emotional and physical health.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I noticed a rise in anxiety, hormonal imbalances such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and hair loss. This highlighted the link between stress, hormones, and overall well-being. Today, my work focuses on treating these concerns through a combination of homoeopathy, counselling, and lifestyle guidance, while consulting patients in Mumbai and globally through online care.
Over time, I observed recurring patterns among patients, especially women and young individuals presenting with anxiety, hormonal imbalances such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and chronic hair fall. These concerns often stem from stress, lifestyle imbalance, hormonal dysregulation, and emotional strain.
This understanding guided me to focus on areas where holistic healing can create meaningful change. My goal is to address the root cause and help patients regain both physical health and emotional balance.
As the Founder and Director of Dr. Yatri Thacker’s Holistic Health Centre, how does your organisation promote holistic wellness?
My vision has been to create a supportive, integrative ecosystem where individuals and families can focus on preventive health proactively rather than only treating illness.
The program focuses on several key areas:
- Preventive healthcare and lifestyle education
- Treating psychosomatic diseases with customised homoeopathy
- Emotional and mental well-being for parents and children through psychotherapy
- Holistic approaches to childhood immunity and development
- Mind–body connection practices such as meditation and breathwork
- Understanding the root cause through an appropriate medical approach
We believe that when families understand the foundations of improved health, immunity, emotional well-being, and mindful living, they are empowered to make healthier choices for generations.
How do you ensure treatments address both physical health and emotional well-being?
In my clinical practice, I always begin with a deep, individualised consultation and an accurate diagnosis. Homoeopathy requires understanding not only the physical symptoms but also the patient’s emotional patterns, stress triggers, personality traits, sleep patterns, and lifestyle.
For example, a patient presenting with hair loss may also be experiencing burnout, suppressed emotions, or hormonal imbalance. Similarly, anxiety can manifest through digestive disturbances, fatigue, or sleep disorders.
My treatment approach integrates:
- Individualised homoeopathic remedies
- Emotional counselling and stress management techniques
- Use of Bach flower remedies and Dr. Yatri Thacker products where appropriate
- Meditation and breathing techniques
- Lifestyle and nutritional guidance
This holistic model ensures that treatment happens at both the physical and emotional levels, leading to more sustainable results.
How does holistic homoeopathy help manage anxiety?
In today’s fast-paced world, anxiety has almost become a silent epidemic. Many individuals are constantly overwhelmed by work pressures, digital overload, and emotional stress.
Homoeopathy approaches anxiety disorders not merely as a mental condition but as a disturbance of the entire mind–body system.
By carefully studying a person’s emotional responses, fears, core issues, sleep patterns, and stress triggers, a remedy can be selected that gently restores balance to the nervous system.
Alongside homoeopathic remedies and psychotherapy, I encourage practices such as breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness to calm the mind and regulate the body’s stress response. This integrated approach helps individuals build emotional resilience rather than simply suppress symptoms.
How do you approach PCOS through holistic homoeopathy?
Conditions like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome are multifactorial. They involve hormonal imbalance, insulin resistance, lifestyle factors, and often emotional stress.
My approach to PCOS focuses on restoring hormonal harmony naturally.
Treatment usually includes:
- Individualised homoeopathic remedies for hormonal regulation
- Addressing metabolic factors such as insulin resistance
- Lifestyle modifications, including exercise and nutrition
- Stress management and emotional support
The goal is not only symptom relief but also restoring the body’s natural endocrine balance so that menstrual cycles, skin health, metabolism, and fertility can gradually normalise.
How does holistic homoeopathy treat the root causes of hair fall?
Hair fall is often a signal from the body rather than just a cosmetic concern. From a holistic perspective, it may be linked to hormonal imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, thyroid dysfunction, emotional stress, or post-illness recovery.
Homoeopathy works by identifying the underlying constitutional imbalance. Each patient receives a remedy suited to their unique physical and emotional profile. Along with this, individual hair care guidance and Dr. Yatri Thacker Regrowth Hair Serum and hair care products may be suggested.
Over the years, I have seen significant improvements in patients when we address deeper triggers, whether hormonal changes, stress, or chronic fatigue, rather than relying solely on topical solutions.
What challenges have you faced advocating holistic medicine?
Like many practitioners in alternative medicine, skepticism is something we encounter regularly. Some people initially doubt the effectiveness of the holistic homoeopathy approach.
However, trust is built through clinical results and patient experience. When patients begin to see improvements not only in their symptoms but also in their energy levels, emotional stability, and overall well-being, their confidence grows.
Education is another key aspect. I spend time explaining how holistic treatment works so patients feel informed and empowered in their healing journey.
What advice would you give to aspiring women in holistic medicine?
My advice to aspiring doctors, both women and men, who wish to enter holistic medicine is that this truly represents the future of healthcare.
Chronic diseases today are rarely limited to just one organ; they affect the mind, body, emotions, and lifestyle. If we want to bring true healing rather than simply manage symptoms, we must adopt an integrative approach that combines natural therapies with conventional medicine, always keeping the patient at the centre of care.
The future of healthcare must shift from being purely disease-centric to becoming preventive, patient-centric, and wellness-focused. Through education, community outreach, health camps, and collaboration among doctors, we can empower people to take charge of their health.
When healthcare professionals unite with this shared vision, we do not just treat illness; we create a healthier and more conscious society.
